Latin America. A recent study conducted by Axity, showed that due to the pandemic companies of all types and sizes detected a need to implement or increase cloud solutions.
The market research "Cloud Adoption in Latin America" led by Axity, found that within the main drivers of change are: a new consumer profile, the acceleration of the digital channel, reinvention of the physical store and current challenges in the supply chain.
For Luis Humberto Morin, Global Enterprise Architect at Axity, although in LATAM only 10% of workloads have moved to the cloud, the pandemic streamlined adoption processes from small to large companies.
"The cloud is more important within the plan of any organization even more than before the pandemic, The use of the cloud is no longer only for large companies, for example, those SMEs that during the closure of the pandemic used WhatsApp to raise orders, they actually used the cloud, "he detailed.
This transformation was also reflected in different aspects regardless of the type of company: "Those companies that had an information-only website, made it transactional; The large chains that already had transactional pages added more channels or created an app, all were added to new ways of meeting the demand, because the environment was demanding it. "
According to the market study, Business Process as a Service (BPaaS); Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS); Platform as a Service (PaaS); Desktop as a Service (DaaS); Software as a Service (SaaS); as well as Cloud Management and Security Services; will have a strong increase from 2022, derived from linear growth trends, as organizations migrate their IT loads to the cloud, due to the increase in remote workers, and the lack of trained personnel to modernize processes and create native developments in the cloud.
IDC forecast that by 2023 the cloud market will triple and by 2028 it will represent 80% of global technology investment.
