Its 155 rooms respond to the "green stay" model
NH Príncipe de Vergara reopens its doors with major renovations
Located in Madrid's Salamanca district, the NH Príncipe de Vergara hotel has recovered its usual activity with an important facelift that incorporates the guidelines of the chain's ambitious plan on sustainability and energy saving.
Only the beams and the façade remain the same after the profound reform that NH Hoteles has carried out in its establishment in Príncipe de Vergara. Its 173 rooms have now been converted into 155. All of them respond to the "green stay" model designed by the chain, and which was already recognized with the European Hotel Design Award. In this context, materials and products that are easy to recycle and friendly to the environment predominate.
Following the criteria of the "green stay", the rooms have low consumption lamps, individual air conditioning and heating of high energy efficiency, LEDs for decorative lighting and devices for saving water, as well as materials chosen according to sustainability criteria.
The renovated hotel currently has eight June suites and twelve rooms with terrace (five of them with full furniture and shower). The rest will be standard double rooms. In addition, NH Hoteles has introduced the concept of "family room", which connects two rooms for the convenience of large groups.
Likewise, the old semi-basement and ground floor have given way to a new space: the cafeteria and the restaurant are unified in the same area on the ground floor that also incorporates a "showcooking" area. As for the organization of events, the hotel goes from having seven to fourteen rooms, which allow to accommodate meetings of 6 to 250 people.
