60% of Mexican companies adopt sustainability strategies

sostenibilidad

International. Currently, sustainability is a critical issue for companies globally, and Mexico is no exception. With growing concerns about climate change and pressure to adopt more responsible practices, Mexican companies are looking for ways to reduce their environmental footprint.

According to a study by PwC Mexico, 60% of Mexican companies have adopted a sustainability strategy, and 48% of these mention that energy efficiency is one of their top priorities. In addition, the United Nations' 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development has prompted many organizations in Mexico to adopt more responsible practices and reduce their environmental footprint.

In this context, the use of technologies takes on a very relevant role, according to the World Economic Forum, technologies could help reduce global carbon emissions by up to 15% by 2030 thanks to the development of more efficient solutions in various sectors. Proactivanet, a leading IT Service Management Software company, is presented as an essential tool for these companies, offering solutions that not only optimize IT asset management, but also promote sustainability. By adopting these sustainable IT practices, Mexican companies are not only complying with environmental regulations, but also leading the way to greener and more responsible development.

According to Proactivanet, an adequate management of asset management helps in an important way to reduce the environmental footprint, so it shares, 5 key strategies for sustainability:
1. Asset Management. Proactivanet enables companies to manage their IT assets efficiently and sustainably. The tool provides a detailed view of available assets, their usage, and configuration. This visibility is crucial for making informed decisions that benefit both the company and the environment.

2. Reduction of Energy Consumption. The optimized use of computing resources has a disproportionately large impact on the environment. According to Mexico's National Institute of Ecology and Climate Change (INECC), the IT sector consumes about 7% of the country's electrical energy. Proactivanet facilitates the monitoring and management of these resources, allowing Mexican companies to reduce their energy consumption. By knowing exactly how assets are used throughout their lifecycle, companies can implement more efficient and sustainable practices.

3. Equipment On/Off Control. An outstanding feature of Proactivanet is the control of switching on and off the equipment. This tool allows you to restrict the switching on of devices to specific times and generate usage histories for each device. With this information, companies can calculate the energy costs and carbon footprint associated with the use of their equipment. By ensuring that devices are switched on only when needed, significant energy savings and a considerable reduction in greenhouse gas emissions can be achieved. This functionality not only improves operational efficiency, but also contributes to a more responsible and sustainable use of energy resources.

4. Choosing Sustainable Suppliers. Another significant advantage of Proactivanet is its ability to help companies select sustainable suppliers. With a clear understanding of their needs and resources, companies can opt for suppliers that offer greener and more energy-efficient solutions. Not only does this contribute to sustainability, but it can also improve the company's reputation and attract customers who value responsible practices.

5. Asset End of Life Management. Managing the end-of-life of IT assets is a crucial aspect of sustainability. In Mexico, the proper management of e-waste is a significant challenge, with only 10% of e-waste formally recycled. Proactivanet enables companies to make smart decisions on how to dispose of assets responsibly, minimizing environmental impact. This includes the ability to recycle components, reuse equipment in other areas of the company, or donate it to organizations that can give it a second use.
