The operation will contribute to the mitigation of climate change through support for projects involving energy efficiency and renewable energy. The contract will also help respond to the growing demand in Brazil for financing for projects aimed at generating energy from alternative sources, with a view to diversifying the Brazilian energy matrix, as well as promoting the necessary energy economy in times of scarcity. In this way, BNDES and KfW contribute to the preservation of the global environment, within the framework of the DKTI (German Climate Technology Initiative).
