The award, granted by the National Association of Public Services and Communications Companies -Andesco-, the Ministry of Mines and Energies, Findeter and the Energy Mining Planning Unit -UPME-, recognizes the commitment and good practices in the implementation and dissemination of projects that promote energy saving and sustainability. The National Learning Service (SENA) will become the first Colombian public entity to have an energy management system according to ISO 50001 and its headquarters will be pioneers in Smart Building, with annual savings that could be around 25% of the energy bill. The implementation of the system, based on IoT and Big Data, is one of the main initiatives of the ambitious digital transformation project that the global consulting and technology company is undertaking in this Colombian entity. The energy efficiency project developed by the National Learning Service (SENA) of Colombia in collaboration with Indra has been awarded the Energy Efficiency Award in the category of Public Entities in Colombia, granted by the National Association of Public Services and Communications Companies (Andesco), the Ministry of Mines and Energy, Findeter and the Energy Mining Planning Unit (UPME). - Publicidad - The global consulting and technology company has implemented and operates an ENERGY management system according to ISO 50001, powered by a Smart Energy platform. Its objective is to improve the energy efficiency of processes continuously by identifying viable technical solutions, as well as establishing recommendations and action plans that reduce the energy, water and gas bill. The implementation of the system on IoT and Big Data technologies is one of the main initiatives of the ambitious digital transformation project that the global consulting and technology company is undertaking in this Colombian entity. The Smart Energy platform is based on FEEP IoT Sofia2 (http://sofia2.com), the solution of Minsait, Indra's digital transformation unit. It acts as a large integrative "brain" capable of monitoring the different energy, water and gas measurement devices deployed by the various SENA headquarters, storing information, visualizing graphs and establishing consumption forecasts by combining historical data from the database and those collected in real time. All monitored information is used by the energy management system to move towards ISO 5001 certification. According to a first study by those responsible for the project on 28 SENA sites, the savings could lead to a reduction of around 25% in the case of the energy bill, with a return on investment of 1.7 years, in the event of implementing measures of little investment.
