The research was conducted by analyzing this dynamic of employees in several call centers in the United States. According to Alex Pentland, director of the Laboratory, it is not caffeine alone that increases productivity, but the fact of pausing and being able to communicate with other members of the work team.

Likewise, the study allowed us to see that the mere fact of interacting in a space outside a boardroom has a close positive relationship with productivity levels.

In offices where the working days are very long, it is recommended to carry out active breaks, says Gabril Fuma, manager of the Vipal Group, a company where this type of practice is carried out. Fuma assures that his company tries to maintain a relaxed atmosphere and fluid communication, and allows everyone to manage their breaks as they see fit.

Another positive practice they carry out in Vipal is that of eating together once a week, interaction and engagement, are two important factors in productivity. According to MIT, actions must be taken to improve these two components and thus increase performance.
