The initiative of the hotels, affiliated with the **Hotel Security Council of Guatemala (Cosehogua),** seeks to reduce crime rates against tourists who visit three of the most important destinations in that country to protect the perimeters of tourist centers, as well as a journey between the capital and the towns of Sacatepéquez and Escuintla.

The president of this council, Byron Heredia, told local media that **it seeks to prevent crime by adding personnel from tourist establishments to denounce any criminal** who attempts against the integrity of a person. Members of the national and traffic police, the Public Prosecutor's Office, the private sector and members of Cosehogua are part of the strategy.
