      Details     25 February 2014           *![alt](https://www.gerenciadeedificios.com/images/stories/ACR/Noticias/EstandarenergticodeAshraepermiteahorrosdel30_.jpg)International.* The requirements of the 2013 revision of the energy standard, recently published by Ashrae and IES, resulted in constructions that can improve their efficiency by 6 to 8% compared to buildings built to the 2010 standard.

Standard 90.1-2013, "Energy standard for buildings, except residential lows", provides the minimum requirements for the energy efficiency design of low-rise buildings, except those of dwellings.

Analyses indicate that site and energy cost savings are 37.7% and 37.8%, respectively, by using the 2004 standard as a baseline for only regulated loads. For all building energy consumption, the national on-site energy savings is 29.5% in addition to the energy cost savings of 29%.

Extensive analysis work was performed by a team from Pacific Northwest National Laboratories. Sixteen different construction prototypes were modeled in 17 different climatic locations for a total of 272 types or combinations of buildings in the climate zone.
