This is the second establishment to achieve recognition in the United States, and for its owner, Gary Goodman, "the hotel received a renovation for US $ 30 million in 2009, with a special emphasis on sustainability." The certification was based on the number of green features in design and construction that positively impact the building and the community at large. That's why the hotel uses less energy than traditional buildings using sun-heated water, high-performance windows, fluorescent and LED lighting, and energy management systems.
