ADCP AWAC 1 MHz has become the standard reference technology in submerged wave measurement applications. They have been implemented to capture the full wave spectrum in combination with current profiles. With a maximum range of 35 m for wave measurements and 4 Hz sampling of surface elevation, the AWAC 1 MHz is the optimal tool for wave and shallow current measurements.

It features real-time current profile reflections up to a range of 30 m, real-time directional waves up to a range of 35 m, acoustic surface tracking (AST) with vertical beam and can be used with both fixed frames and underground buoys.

On the other hand it has applications for online measurements of currents and waves, design data for the planning of new coastal structures, site studies for offshore wind platforms, coastal erosion studies, measurement campaigns where the entire wave spectrum is needed, transient wave monitoring for channel wall protection and tidal current studies.
