Sales of security cameras with Internet Protocol (IP)-based technology are growing at a rapid pace in Latin America and are expected to match those of analog devices in the next two years, said Kiyoharu Sassa. marketing manager for IPELA products of Sony Electronics, Broadcast & Professional Latin America Division. "We estimate that the growth of IP video technology is approximately 40 percent per year in Latin America," Sassa said."The network infrastructure of some countries in the region is not yet ready for a large explosion of this type of security systems, but it is being prepared and we consider that by 2009 sales of IP monitoring technology will be equivalent to analog," Said.
