InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) announced the opening of the Crowne Plaza Panama Airport hotel, a newly built property with 144 rooms and strategically located near Tocumen International Airport. The investment required for the commissioning of this facility was US$20 million by the owner and operator Bern Hotels & Resorts.
Gerardo Murray, IHG's regional vice president of distribution and commercial marketing for Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean, stated that "Bern Hotels & Resorts owns four IHG properties in Panama, and we are very excited about the opening of a fifth hotel with this long-time franchisee. Crowne Plaza's comprehensive meeting program includes a two-hour response guarantee to requests for proposals, a dedicated meeting manager and a daily meeting report, and will also complement the multifunctional meeting spaces available at the hotel.
