Colombia. The possibility of collecting rainwater to convert it into drinking water that can be used to supply part of the demand for this liquid by buildings and homes, is the objective of the new treatment plant presented by the eduardoño company. In the case of this treatment equipment, the transformation of rainwater into drinking water is carried out through a mixture of physicochemical processes, including double filtration and disinfection with chlorine and UV.
The uses that can be given to the water obtained through this type of plants are diverse and range from irrigation for gardens, cleaning in general, washing clothes, unloading bathrooms and washing vehicles to human consumption taking into account that its daily flow goes from one thousand to 2,000 liters of drinking water.
In the case of companies, in addition to the options already mentioned, the plant can also be used to supply the water supply in case of temporary service cuts, for example.
In addition, the savings in water service rates is also an important factor when having this type of equipment. Using the rainwater treatment plant generates a decrease in water bills of between 30% and 50%.
"Having products that benefit both the user and the environment has been one of the marketing objectives of Eduardoño's Environmental Solutions business, so today we present the Rainwater Treatment Plant, to contribute to the economically and environmentally responsible achievement of drinking water," said Germán Castaño Urrego, general manager of Eduardoño.
