Mexico. The Ministry of Energy (Sener) will collaborate with the government of Mexico City to promote investment in projects that help take advantage of the capital's energy potential.
The head of the agency, Pedro Joaquín Coldwell, explained that with the installation of photovoltaic panels companies, public buildings and private homes can generate part of their electricity consumption.
In a statement, sener said that through the Fund for the Energy Transition and the Sustainable Use of Energy, it promotes several projects with the support of institutions such as the Trust for Energy Savings (FIDE) and the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE).
Coldwell explained that with the National Institute of Electricity and Clean Energy, in partnership with the Climate Initiative of Mexico and the United Nations Environment Program, they will contribute resources of up to 100 million pesos to establish a Guarantee Fund that promotes clean generation.
The official pointed out that among the relevant projects in terms of clean energy promoted by the City government, is the use of urban solid waste, the installation of biodigesters in various sites, as well as the introduction of solar technologies for water heating in hospitals.
