International. Francisco Luis García Ahumada was appointed as the new president of IFMA Spain, the Spanish Society of Facility Management, whose objective is to promote knowledge of Facility Management and the value it brings to the business world and society.
His appointment comes as a result of the electoral campaign that the Association carries out every four years to elect its top managers, in which the candidacy of the team that already led the Association has been the winner.
García Ahumada, who takes over from Vicente Redondo, faces this new stage "with great enthusiasm and a strong sense of responsibility." He adds: "In recent years, we have made great strides in promoting knowledge of facility management in Spain. However, there is still much to be done and from IFMA we will continue to work very hard to spread its great benefits among companies and professionals in our country."
With a long professional career, he has more than 40 years of experience in the fields of engineering and consulting, during which he has held different positions of responsibility in important companies such as Telefónica Sistemas or Sener.
Currently, he combines his work as a consultant with his facet as a teacher in various universities and educational centers. Especially noteworthy is his position at the Building School Foundation, where he serves as director of the Master's Degree in Real Estate Asset Management and Asset & Facility Management Services.
In addition to IFMA, Francisco Luis García Ahumada is a member of numerous institutions and organizations such as ASHRAE, IAM and CIBSE.
The meeting is completed with Lorena García-Espada as vice president and Jaime Pire Álvarez who maintains his position as secretary/treasurer, while the positions of members are occupied by Enrique Carrero Álvaro, Gonzalo Montoya García, Luis del Barrio García, Roberto Rojas Gallego, Vicente Redondo López, Víctor Manuel Collado, José Luis Redondo Herrán, Marc Blasco Chabert and Raquel Cruz Almarza.
