Latin America. This meeting, which will be held in November, will feature presentations by important experts and a room where innovative solutions will be presented.
Chile will host one of the most important events in the region about the use of digital technologies in construction: the Third Latin American Congress BIM Latam 2017, organized by the Technological Development Corporation -CDT- of the Chilean Chamber of Construction, BIM Forum Chile and Comgrap.
This meeting, point out its organizers, seeks to improve and encourage the use of BIM, which consists of the management of large databases of information, beyond the mere reference to the physical geometry of buildings, using information on key characteristics, such as the resistance of materials and their cost, among others, that allow to examine in the long term the life cycle of a building.
The activity will be held at the Manquehue Club, in Las Condes, on November 7 and 8, and will bring together prominent rapporteurs from different Latin American countries.
The central theme of this new version will be "BIM and industrialization".
The organizers explain that during the two days of the congress four major thematic areas will be addressed.
The first is process optimization, which will address optimization experiences applied to processes, prefabrication, facility management and collaborative environments.
The second is Big Data, information management, which will include topics such as the capture and generation of accurate and timely information, cloud services, analysis and simulation and artificial intelligence.
The third is automation, understood as the robotization of processes and the internet of things.
And finally, we will talk about platforms for innovation and entrepreneurship, through topics aimed at learning more about support for entrepreneurship projects, innovation experiences, 3D modeling, additive manufacturing (3D printing) and new services.
Also, the congress (www.bimlatam.la) will have a Hall of Technologies.
