International. The Catalan Association of Facility Management (ACFM) and the Energy Efficiency Cluster of Catalonia (CEEC) have just announced that they have signed a collaboration agreement "with the aim of promoting energy efficiency under the perspective of Facility Management in the Catalan field", which denotes an interesting work model for other latitudes.
According to the president of the CEEC, Xavier Farriols (in the photo, right), "this agreement has to allow the development of joint activities between both associations that allow solutions related to the improvement of energy efficiency to be developed in a sector with great potential for savings such as buildings".
In line with his counterpart, the president of the Catalan Association of Facility Management, Marc Sistach, said that, thanks to this agreement, "the associates of the two organizations will be able to share all the knowledge, experiences and business opportunities of a sector as strategic as energy, related to the comfort and well-being of building users". Sistach, who appears on the left in the photo, also added that "this agreement is a step of capital importance for the consolidation of the Catalan Association of Facility Management.
According to the statement delivered to the media, "this new relationship will result in several collaborations and actions on issues of common interest related to energy efficiency, such as the figure of the energy manager framed in the functions of Facility Management, smart buildings and smart cities, in the dissemination and participation in conferences, in initiatives in the field of training and knowledge management or in joint participation in commissions, working groups or business projects aimed at the building sector and infrastructure in general".
