Colombia. On July 10, 2015, the Ministry of Housing, City and Territory (MVCT) announced the adoption of the first regulation that promotes sustainable construction. This is Resolution No. 549 of 2015 of the MVCT through which the Guide for saving water and energy in buildings is adopted.
This regulation was preceded by the issuance of Decree 1285 of June 2015 of that portfolio, which modifies Decree 1077 of 2015 Single Regulatory Decree of the Housing, City and Territory Sector.
As of August 1, 2016, this regulation is mandatory for the application of any construction license in the form of new construction in Barranquilla, Bogotá, Cali and Medellín.
The objective of this course is to present an approach to Resolution 549/15, whose purpose is to achieve sustainable and economically competitive projects. Passive and active measures for saving water and energy are presented. Through this approach it is intended that the attendees have facilities to comply with the mandatory savings percentages, according to the specifications of the project, proposing control and operation systems.
