Mexico. Riu Hotels & Resorts has announced the opening of its twentieth hotel in Mexico to continue developing its international expansion plan for the next five years.
The 602-room, adult-only Riu Palace Baja California hotel is the chain's third establishment in the Los Cabos region.
The Riu hotel company, headquartered in Mallorca, has about 12,000 rooms in Mexico, and distributed in Playa del Carmen, where it has six hotels; Cancun (4); Costa Mujeres (2); Los Cabos (3); Riviera Nayarit (3); Mazatlan (1) and Guadalajara (1).
Although it continues to open hotels in america, Riu has pointed out that its international expansion plan sets "a very strong commitment to new destinations, especially in Asia and Africa, and to large cities in the world where it plans to implement its urban hotels".
