International. The International Facilities Management Association (IFMA) is pleased to announce its collaboration with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) to provide members of both organizations with training and resources aimed at improving the safety and performance of facilities and professionals worldwide.
Through this partnership, IFMA members will have access to NFPA's prestigious training and certification programs, as well as more than a century of experience in fire prevention, wildfire preparedness, electrical safety, hazardous materials handling, and community risk reduction. In turn, NFPA members will receive special pricing on IFMA's globally recognized, ANAB-accredited courses and credentials, allowing them to expand their understanding of fundamental concepts and competencies in facilities management.
IFMA established its strategic partnership program in 2021 with the goal of offering built environment professionals a unique source of interdisciplinary training provided by the industry's most respected and influential organizations. This program offers specialized training opportunities that address a variety of mission-critical roles and cover the entire operational lifecycle of the built environment.
"We are excited about this collaboration with IFMA, as it reflects our shared commitment to improving safety in our built environments. Facility managers are the unsung heroes of fire safety and life safety, operating at the heart of NFPA's Fire Safety and Life Ecosystem," said Mike Brunzell, NFPA's vice president of global business development. "Through this partnership, IFMA members will have access to unparalleled NFPA training, certifications, and resources, allowing them to further protect buildings and the people who occupy them. Together, we are strengthening our goal to advance safety and prevent damage caused by fire, electrical and other related hazards around the world."
"NFPA joins IFMA and 14 other leading organizations to share essential training and expert knowledge relevant to built environment practices and priorities. We are proud to partner with NFPA to provide all those responsible for ensuring the safety of people and organizational assets, from facilities and construction management professionals to first responders, access to best-in-class training solutions and informational resources geared toward creating and sustaining facility excellence." said Don Gilpin, President and CEO of IFMA.
