About three months ago Mr. César García Matarazzo (QEPD), who was the manager of that hotel, had contacted us with a pride that overwhelmed him to have received the environmental certificate. He wanted the history of his hotel and his as the leader of that important event to be known. Absorbed by the day-to-day information and work we wanted to postpone the story to the next edition. But we find the news of his death, in violent and still unclear facts.
In his honor we wanted to build a posthumous profile to honor a person and professional who marked the hotel and tourism development of the northern part of the Colombian country. We are convinced that it is not too late to share this story full of leadership but with an immense cloak of sadness.
Parallel to this fact came the end of my position at the head of the editorial management of the magazine Gerencia de Hoteles y Restaurantes, a publication that I saw born and to which for four years I gave life every two months. I can only use this space to send my deepest thanks to all those people with whom I shared in one way or another in the midst of the daily life of this work. I will start my personal project with the hope of continuing to serve this industry. For those who want to stay in touch, my temporary address is [email protected]
To those who during these years have been my readers, leaders, colleagues and friends, and to the memory of César García, we dedicate this edition.
