The list mentions five hotels in the United States, three represent the Asian continent and the remaining two are located in European lands.
The additional services offered by this type of hotel range from state-of-the-art video games, smart music players, large LCDs and smartphones, to other technological elements beneficial to the hotel such as solar panels and lighting for energy savings.
But what about our region. Are we still far behind in this regard? Still our culture and infrastructure does not allow us to offer a service like this? Or do investors simply not risk investing in these types of services? Perhaps there is a fear that the Latino consumer will not dare to spend a lot of time for these amenities. These are the questions that the same guest could answer as he gets to know offers of this kind.
Keep in mind that the current guest is a consumer of technology and needs to be constantly connected to the virtual world. The cell phone became his best friend, the laptop is his right hand and music players are the ideal complement during a long stay away from home.
I invite hoteliers to reflect on the convenience of including these services within their technological plans, since many establishments do not even offer free Internet or do not have an infrastructure to install it.
