With an investment of more than US$20 million , the construction of the Art Hotel & Suites in the Colombian capital began.
The establishment, which will be located near the renowned Parque de la 93, in Bogotá, is being developed under the concept of "total design": culture, art and good food.
The goal is to open the hotel during the first half of 2012. In this way it will become the second of the brand in Colombia; the first is in the city of Medellín and is Boutique type.
For this project, the investor Benoit Delgrange was appointed as general manager. The executive was at the head of the Sofitel Santa Clara Hotel in the renowned city of Cartagena and provided his services for 27 years for the Accor Group. He also currently serves as Vice President of Arte Hotel & Suites Colombia.
The establishment will give special importance to the cultural theme and the dissemination of art, as well as providing an art cinema service with capacity for 60 people where both guests and visitors can enjoy the programming of a series of films of the independent cinema that will be screened with free admission.
Likewise, it will have a gallery that will exhibit the works of national and international artists, with an exhibition duration of two months.
There will also be a space dedicated to reading in the VIP Hall consisting of a library and a bookstore that will be called Prologue, there will be books in Spanish and English specialized in design, tourism, collections and other literary works will be included.
Topics such as gastronomy, resources for events, meetings and business, fun, relaxation and entertainment will be part of the concept of the Art Hotel.
