Peru's National Institute of Statistics (INEI) recently reported on the industrial and business sectors that showed the greatest growth and sustainability in that country as a result of their operations the previous year.
The guild that obtained a better performance was that of construction, with a growth of 15.17%, in second place is the financial sector with an advance of 10.35%, and in third, fourth and fifth place of growth are the tourist market that had an expansion in 2012 of 8.85%, that of hotels grew by 8.86% and that of restaurants by 8.83%. This indicates the good moment that the horeca industry is going through in that country.
On the other hand, the Association of Banks (Asbanc), indicated that the hotel and restaurant segments was one of those that showed greater strength in the country sustaining its growth.
Asbanc attributed this positive movement to the financing actions aimed at the horeca sector that facilitates the expansion of this activity and allows to satisfy the growing demand through the provision of capital for the opening of new establishments, the remodeling of existing ones and the purchase of necessary goods and inputs.
In 2012, the sector received a total of US$1,114 million in loans, which meant an increase of 19.7% in financing compared to 2011.
