Spain. The Spanish Society of Facility Management, IFMA, made the appointment of its new president, being Vicente Redondo the professional chosen to replace Pedro Garcia Carro, who officiated the position for the period 2013-2015.
Redondo had been serving as a member of the board of directors of IFMA Spain and as leader of the communications and marketing commission of the association. In addition, he has extensive experience in the Facility Management sector, an industry to which he has been linked for more than 15 years.
For the last eight years Redondo has worked for the multinational real estate consultancy Jones Lang Lasalle (JLL) and, currently, is director of Facility Management in Spain and Account Director for EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) of this company.
Before his appointment, Redondo said that "I face this stage with enthusiasm to continue working to develop the discipline of Facility Management in Spain and raise awareness among professionals and companies of the enormous benefits that a professionalized and strategic management of FM can bring them."
The official added that "we still have a huge task ahead of us. As you well know, the level of development in Spain of the discipline of Facility Management is still small, and we are far from countries like the USA. USA, UK, France or Holland."
