Colombia. InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) announced the opening of the Holiday Inn Express Cartagena Bocagrande Hotel in Cartagena, Colombia. The newly built 200-room hotel is the second property in the city of Cartagena and the twelfth in Colombia. The Holiday Inn Cartagena Morros hotel is currently open and the InterContinental Cartagena de Indias hotel will open in the middle of this year.
The new Holiday Inn Express hotel is located in Bocagrande, the most modern area of Cartagena, surrounded by numerous recreational centers such as shops, restaurants, nightclubs and art galleries. The hotel is close to the most famous tourist attractions of the city, among which the Walled City, the San Felipe de Barajas Castle, the Rosario Islands and the Cerro de La Popa stand out.
Gerardo Murray, IHG's Regional Vice President of Distribution and Commercial Marketing for Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean, stated: "We are very pleased to introduce the Holiday Inn Express brand to Cartagena together with Grupo Contempo.
