Mexico. Last Friday, August 14, three free conferences on KNX, protocol for housing and building control, were held within the framework of TecnoMultimedia InfoComm Mexico, a fair specialized in audiovisual systems, home automation and digital signage. The talks were given by the KNX Association, creator and owner of this standard.
The KNX standard can be used in applications ranging from lighting control, blinds, security systems, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, monitoring, alarm, water control, to energy management. The three lectures given last Friday are entitled "What is KNX and scopes" and "Automation projects with KNX", by engineers Maribel Pacheco Ramos and Rimack Quiñones Osorio, as well as "Introduction to the KNX standard" with Engineer Salvador Santiago García.
According to the description provided by the Association for its introductory talk to the standard, "in order to start using KNX technology, minimum concepts must be taken into account. These presentations will provide the knowledge and advantages of using KNX technology."
Regarding the topic of its use in automation, the description of the talk states that "KNX facilities are increasingly complex, and the functions in both tertiary buildings and smart homes are more versatile. New tasks such as energy efficiency in buildings make the use of KNX practically indispensable."
TecnoMultimedia Mexico was held at the World Trade Center in Mexico City from August 12 to August 14.
