Uruguay. The Starwood chain will invest US$15 million in the construction of an Aloft-branded hotel in montevideo, Uruguay. The property will be developed as part of the expansion plans of the Punta Carretas Shopping center and will be a multipurpose facility that will include office spaces in addition to the accommodation area.
This new hotel marks the chain's fourth establishment in the country, but it will be the first of the Aloft brand. The building will have 10 floors and 110 rooms. The work will be built by the investment group Tonosol SA and by Garbarino Lombardo & Asociados.
The new project will be owned by the company Tonosol SA, current owner of the Sheraton Montevideo Hotel. The inauguration of this new hotel is scheduled for March 2017.
