Latin America. Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group announced the signing of agreements for the development of the first three Radisson RED hotels in Latin America: Radisson RED Bogotá and Radisson RED Cali, in Colombia; and Radisson RED Campinas, in Brazil. Carlson Rezidor's plans include opening 60 Radisson RED hotels globally through 2020.
"Radisson RED has gained strong interest and momentum in the Asia Pacific and Europe region, so we are really happy to be able to announce our first hotels in the Americas, where interest has been equally strong," said Javier Rosenberg, Chief Operating Officer of Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group Americas.
The brand appeals to customers comfortable with the use of technology by offering them a non-traditional stay experience. At the same time, it offers developers and owners lower costs per room than a traditional superior hotel through a multi-functional approach and more efficient space planning, which significantly reduces construction and operating costs, generating higher margins.
Radisson RED Bogotá will be a contemporary design hotel with 58 rooms in the Parque del Virrey area, close to the Parque de la 93 entertainment district. The hotel is planned to open in the first quarter of 2016.
Radisson RED Cali, located in the center of the city, is a brand new hotel
of 91 rooms, with privileged views of the Cali River. It is just steps from the city's museums and attractions, including the famous Cali Zoo. It is also scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2016.
Radisson RED Campinas is a new hotel with 185 rooms located in the central area
of Cambuí, known as the best location in the city to enjoy the nightlife. The hotel will be managed by Atlantica Hotels International, Carlson Rezidor's partner in Brazil.
