United States. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) announced a preliminary list of the most common workplace safety violations during 2015. Patrick Kapust, deputy director of OSHA's Compliance Programs Directorate, presented the list at the organization's annual conference.
According to the manager, the top 10 safety violations are fall protection, risk communication, scaffolding, respiratory protection, enclosures, industrial trucks, ladders, electric - connection methods, machine protection, electrical - general requirements, in that order.
"In injury prevention, we go where the data tells us," said OSHA President and CEO Deborah AP Hersman. "OSHA's Top 10 list is a roadmap that identifies hazards to avoid on the path to safety excellence."
