International. TeamViewer announced a collaboration agreement with Harman. Together they have created a dedicated IoT solution for monitoring and managing smart buildings and devices, combining Harman's Smart Building management system and IoT gateways with TeamViewer's leading remote control and monitoring solutions.
Harman's customers with smart buildings use a walkway device that monitors the state of the building through more than 500 different sensor types. Thanks to this new dedicated IoT solution, service technicians and operations managers will be able to continuously monitor the IoT gateway via TeamViewer – the status will be displayed in Harman's Smart Building dashboard, with additional details available in TeamViewer's own monitoring panel.
The solution will not only display critical information collected from the variety of existing sensors, but will also monitor the sensors and gateways themselves. Service technicians and operations managers will be able to receive notifications about the sensors, including common problems such as connectivity or battery failures, as well as having the possibility to access the gateway to install updates or troubleshoot problems remotely. Access will be enabled through a web interface on the gateway.
"We are very pleased to expand TeamViewer's portfolio of partnerships in the Area of IoT thanks to this agreement with Harman," said Raffi M. Kassarjian, general manager of IoT and Monitis at TeamViewer in a press release, adding: "The Internet of Things connects millions of devices and sensors, and many of them need to be monitored during their operation. TeamViewer is the perfect tool for this task, and we are proud to offer our support."
A product demonstration will be held during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 in Barcelona, which will take place between February 27 and March 2, at the Harman International stand.
