International. In Isla Mallorca, a famous summer tourist destination in Spain, three hotels chose AirLive's connectivity solutions to offer free Internet access through the Wi-Fi network service to all their guests.
To achieve that goal, PoE switches with network topology diagram and ceiling-mount access points were installed.
System Requirement
Before settling on AirLive equipment, hotel owners were looking for a complete solution that offered Wi-Fi coverage and easy management. In addition, it had to be economically accessible and at the same time favor the growth of connections to the WiFi network. Finally, they decided to use the POE-GSH2624-370 switch, with network topology management, and the AC AP. TOP, double radio with ceiling mount, both AirLive equipment.
Why an AirLive solution?
In the Tropicana hotel they installed a PoE switch with topology diagram and 80 APs double radio (AC. TOP) by AirLive. Both are located in different buildings and SFP fiber connections via switch combo ports.
AC. TOP, connected and powered by a POE-GSH2624-370 switch, provides 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi signals simultaneously. The 5G band uses 802.11ac technology that can deliver a faster Wi-Fi signal with less interference.
However, the combination of AC. TOP and the PoE switch with topology provide the specific functions that allow the owner to manage their Wi-Fi network in a much simpler way than with other solutions.
First, the POE-GSH2624-370 switch provides a network topology view without the need to install software. Thus, owners can know the status of the network in real time. For example, when a computer is disconnected, it can be viewed on the switches' webpage.
This capability also helps the hotel owner know which devices are connected or disconnected on their network. In large projects, such as the one carried out at the Tropicana hotel, they did not need to use a specific tool to obtain a diagram of the network design.
