Colombia. Bogotá currently has 11 shopping centers under development that will add to the inventory around 493,300 square meters of profitable area, of the total area under development, 4% of the total projects are shopping centers that are under remodeling and expansion.
One of these cases is Metropolis which during the last year has developed architectural improvements that align with the new trends that the capital is attracting, the remaining 96% corresponds to new spaces to be built throughout the city where 68% is already under development and 32% is still on plans.
Analyzing by class the new projects in development, it is evident that the largest participation corresponds to the Community class with 46%, corresponding to 7 shopping centers, followed by the Super Regional class with the construction of the largest shopping center in Latin America and Colombia contributing to the inventory 134,000 meters of profitable area, which will enter into operation in stages and will have an orientation of service premises in the first instance; finally with a very close figure is located the Regional class which will contribute 27%.
Colliers International estimates that for the next two years the inventory of shopping centers will grow by 30% with the completion of the new projects under development that are underway in the capital.
