Brazil. The National Bank for Economic and Social Development of Brazil (BNDES) has signed a new external fundraising of 141.72 million dollars, with the German development bank Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW). The operation will contribute to the mitigation of climate change through support for projects involving energy efficiency and renewable energy.
The contract will also help respond to the growing demand in Brazil for financing for projects aimed at generating energy from alternative sources, with a view to diversifying the Brazilian energy matrix, as well as promoting the necessary energy economy in times of scarcity.
In this way, BNDES and KfW contribute to the preservation of the global environment, within the framework of the DKTI (German Climate Technology Initiative). The DKTI is a joint initiative of KfW and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), which aims to encourage emerging and developing countries to invest in efforts aimed at the environment and climate protection.
