International. The president of the security company Eulen, María José Álvarez, acknowledged that her company has ignored Aena's macro surveillance contract, as prosegur and Securitas have done, since the proposed conditions did not ensure the provision of a "serious" service.
At a lunch organized by the Deusto Business School, Álvarez has ratified the complaints of the sector, which considers that the requirements proposed by Aena did not allow to apply the salary improvements agreed with the Government and the unions after the strikes of El Prat.
In this sense, the president of Eulen has pointed out that companies are "no NGO" and that they have the right and obligation to present results that allow their survival.
El Prat, a "politicized" conflict
Álvarez has added that his company has been the most affected after the "politicized" conflict of El Prat and has complained that the mandatory award forces them to pay a radioscopy bonus to the entire workforce, whether or not they belong to that unit, an aspect that he considers "incomprehensible".
In turn, he pointed out that the Generalitat of Catalonia, the Ministry of Development and Aena have not responded for their actions in this conflict.
With regard to the labor situation in the sector, he has denounced that the 2012 reform led to a "hanging" of the agreements that many companies took advantage of to lower wages, which he has considered a "perversion" of the law.
In his opinion, the reform is responsible for job insecurity, since companies are only executors of current legislation.
SMEs sneak the Law
On the new Law on Public Sector Contracts, he has defended that it should focus on small and medium-sized companies, which are the ones that "sneak" out of the law.
She has also shown her concern about the rise of electronic auctions in the services sector -instead of competitions-, because, according to her, this trend supposes a loss of quality by "always prioritizing the price".
The Spanish company Eulen closed 2017 with a turnover of 1,700 million euros and a workforce of 92,000 employees, of which 52,000 work in Spain and 40,000 do so distributed among fourteen countries in the world.
