Mexico. Mexico is among the Top 10 countries that have obtained the most LEED certifications worldwide, an international recognition that is granted to sustainable buildings by virtue of the reduction of their gas emissions, the reduction of operational costs and energy savings, among others.
This pis has about 900 participating projects, with the goal of reaching one billion certified square meters in the next 10 years.
"The combination of actions that involve the solution to current and future needs through civil liability, communication, technologies, the economy and sustainability, make up some of the factors of the so-called smart cities," said the general director of Bioconstruction and Alternative Energy and winner of the Green Leadership Award 2018, Ulises Treviño.
"To talk about sustainability is to create the synergy between society, the economy and the environmental impact. If these 3 factors find a balance, we are talking about true sustainability," said Treviño regarding how to coexist between various factors.
