Latin America. Cristina Gamboa, Executive Director of the Colombian Council for Sustainable Construction (CCCS), accepts a job opportunity with the World Green Building Council www.worldgbc.org, starting October 22 in London, England.
The Colombian Council for Sustainable Construction (CCCS) informed its stakeholders that from October 22 Cristina Gamboa, Executive Director of the CCCS, will be part of the team of professionals of the World Green Building Council (WorldGBC, www.worldgbc.org) based in London, England.
Cristina has been the Executive Director of the Council since August 15, 2009. During this period the institution achieved an outstanding institutional development, consolidate an excellent human team and offer programs and products at the service of the Members of the institution and the country. Undoubtedly, in recent years the actions of the CCCS have facilitated the positioning of sustainable construction in the public and private agenda.
"I am very excited to join WorldGBC and to have the opportunity to work from a leadership position to further strengthen the positive influence that the global movement of transformation of the construction industry towards integral sustainability has been having every day. Undoubtedly, sustainable buildings and urban action are the most effective solutions to combat climate change and also to achieve other important environmental objectives, such as the preservation of water resources, the elimination of waste and curb the loss of biodiversity," said Gamboa.
Mábel Carrero, Commercial and Membership Leader, will be Executive Director in charge by appointment of the CCCS Board of Directors, while the selection process is completed. She will be reinstated on December 3 following her maternity leave.
Meanwhile Juan David Lizcano, Alternate Legal Representative and Legal and Public Policy Leader, will be in charge and available for the requirements.
