Mexico. The Integral Center of Criminal Justice located in the delegation of La Pila recently inaugurated by the Governor of the State Juan Manuel Carreras López and the Magistrate, Juan Paulo Almazán Cue, President of the Judicial Power, received the Certification as LEED New Construction Gold level, for achieving optimal levels of performance in terms of its materials, construction processes, as well as energy and water savings, due to its low environmental impact. It is the first and only government building in the region to achieve this international authentication.
The LEED Certification -Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, for its acronym in English-, is a certification system that has an international recognition, which favors sustainable architecture, which was created by the Sustainable Building Council of the United States, this building is the only one in the entity and one of the first in our country, it was built under the supervision of the Ministry of Urban Development, Housing and Public Works.
Among the benefits provided by this certification are to generate spaces with better conditions for productivity, both for workers and those who are served in this space, as well as the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
This type of certification allows the reduction in operating costs and waste, by having, for example, solar cells, as well as insulators, to reduce energy consumption, increasing the value of assets, allowing energy and resource savings.
By submitting the LEED 2009 New Construction and Major Renovations Gold level certificate, awarded by meeting 65 points, the President and CEO of U.S. Green Building Council Mahesh Ramanujam, expressed to the Governor of the State that the Criminal Justice Center of San Luis Potosí is an example of sustainability that demonstrates its leadership in transforming the building industry, as well as its commitment to building a healthy and sustainable future.
The Integral Center of Criminal Justice La Pila, is an architectural work that was carried out in observance of high standards of security, modernity and functionality, being a reference in the application of the Accusatory Criminal Justice System in the State.
