International. IFMA introduces a new enhancement to its series of FM credentials and certifications with the introduction of digital badges. The release of these web-enabled versions of shared, verifiable professional development achievements begins with Certified Facility Manager (CFM) and Retired CFM (RCFM). IFMA has partnered with Credly, one of the leading digital credential companies, to provide this service through its platform, Acclaim.
"For decades, IFMA has set the standard for FM professional development products and services, from our innovative global work task analysis to the suite of industry-leading credentials and certifications," said IFMA Chief Operating Officer Don Gilpin. "Today, we are introducing the next frontier of professional development innovation that will make it easier than ever to reap the benefits of the hard work and dedication that comes with earning an IFMA credential. From now on, it will be easier than ever for FM professionals to prove their worth and for employers to recognize their knowledge and skills."
This added benefit, provided at no additional cost to facility professionals who have obtained their CFM or RCFM, works by providing a graphic badge for use on social media, websites, or email signature lines. The graphic links to a web page that not only verifies the authenticity and date of achievement, but also details the knowledge, skills, and requirements behind it.
IFMA is implementing its identification program in early 2019, starting with FM professionals who earned the CFM, which has become the most respected global certification for facilities management. As the most prestigious credential offered by IFMA, the CFM covers the full scope of FM competencies as identified by the global analysis of work tasks, which shapes the educational landscape that informs all IFMA educational products.
