Latin America. According to the report MARKET STUDY: CLEANING AND FACILITY MANAGEMENT IN LATIN AMERICA 2022-2023 that Facility Management must take into account that "the buildings where people are housed, whether for work, to have fun or to live, must, on the one hand, continue to be maintained regardless of their capacity, but of course they increasingly have to be much more efficient (in operational and maintenance terms), which will result in taking care of the environment (efficiency in resources: energy, water, waste, etc.), which in the end influences the well-being of people".
Additionally, the study adds: "They must continue to offer services to users (cleaning, catering, security, etc.). In both aspects, technology is the lever that enables adaptation according to needs or demands. The disruptive technology available to the sector will allow us to act predictively, anticipating the Facility Manager to the inconveniences".
In relation to this, it is emphasized that several companies have been implementing numerous IoT solutions in the health field, and in the management of buildings or offices. "Industries have agreed that buildings and services began to digitize. This has deployed a need to optimize the maintenance, conservation and durability of facilities in organizations," the market report said.
It is worth noting that Facility Management has been an industry of continuous growth, according to estimates by McKinsey & Company, it will move 1.9 trillion dollars worldwide in 2024, 6% more than in 2018.
"The incorporation of new technologies has allowed support management and monitoring of compliance indicators. Tools that collect information related to quality and ISO standards, waste management, circular economy processes and, very importantly, the calculation of the footprint, both carbon and water have been facilitating Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and the dissemination of all this data in an automated and agile way and using indicators, both standard and the same companies" concludes the report.
