Hyatt Implements Long-Range Environmental Program
The hotel's water consumption was 45 million gallons in 2007, and would have increased by 10% if these measures had not been implemented. Energy consumption has been reduced with the installation of a hydronic plate cooling system that uses outside air to cool the hotel when there are temperature variations, the change of 95% from bulbs to saving technologies, heat recovery from washing waste water to heat the cold water that enters, and use of locally grown agricultural products. The replacement of the bulbs has resulted in savings of 1,171,207.62 Kwh per year, or a saving of 6.5% in annual consumption.
