In a fierce competition to establish themselves in Rio de Janeiro, four major firms have submitted proposals to open their establishments in 2014.
Starwood with the W brand; Wyndham, with Wyndham Grand; Hilton, with the Conrad; and Trump, participate in the fight to keep the high-standard hotel that Polaris will build in Barra. Four Seasons is finalizing negotiations with Eike Bastista's EBX to manage the Gloria Palace Hotel.
Part of the causes of this dispute is the high hotel occupancy that the hotel's location has throughout the year, close to 90%. The property will have 175 rooms and will be built on Avenida Lucio Costa, facing the sea, on the corner of Plaza do Ó, about 500 meters from Pepe beach.
In the place, there was a property abandoned 20 years ago that will be readapted and revitalized through a strong investment.
