In its almost two years of existence as Building Management, the magazine has grown hand in hand with its readers and has had a constant learning process with which we are increasingly immersed in the world of building management in Latin America.
The increase in construction rates in countries such as Panama and Colombia are a sign that the issue of administration and management of commercial and corporate facilities is more relevant than ever.
The Office Market Overview Mid-Year 2014 report published by Jones Lang LaSalle, which analyzes the situation of the office space market for the first half of this year, offers data that ratify the good moment of this sector in some Latin American countries.
An important fact offered by the report is that in the next 24 months the construction of more than five million square meters of office spaces is expected. Similarly, it is worth noting that the largest office markets in the region are Mexico City, São Paulo and Santiago, based on the strength of their economies and their size.
However, the fastest growing markets during the last two years have been Bogotá and Lima, thanks to a favorable investment climate, as well as Panama City, which continues to have a high construction rate.
This leads us to ratify that today, more than ever, the role of Facility Managers and all those professionals who work in the management of infrastructure, maintenance or operations, is fundamental.
In 2015 we hope from the articles of this publication to continue contributing to each of our readers having new tools for their professional practice; in addition to highlighting its role in the proper functioning of all types of facilities as it happens in this edition with the Top 30 Ranking of airports.
