Colombia. The Colombian Association of Facility Management -ACFM- held its General Assembly of partners at the end of March, a space in which the election of the Board of Directors of the organization for the period 2015-2017 was held.
The work team selected to direct and promote the growth of this nascent association consists of professionals who seek to promote the profession of Facility Management from different scenarios. First, Max Jaramillo Fertig, president of LatinPress Inc., was re-elected as president. Latin Press Inc is a specialized media publishing house and organizer of international technical congresses with more than 20 years of experience in the United States and Latin America.
Its products focus on the development of content and valuable information for industrial sectors, mainly in eight industries: electronic security; air conditioning, heating and cooling; audio, video and lighting; paints and coatings; construction, television production, tourism and hospitality.
Jaramillo also stands out for having been the protagonist of the formation of the Latin American Security Association, ALAS, and current member of its board of directors.
The position of vice president fell to Carlos Erasmo Leyton, an architect from the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá with specialization studies in business administration and has a master's degree in business administration from the same university.
Since joining IBM's real estate and general services team in Colombia and Latin America in 1994 and to date, he has participated in the development of facilities management services from all its edges in office, commercial and industrial buildings, locally and internationally.
He currently works as manager of the company Facilite Group S.A.S, is part of the Advisory Team in the magazine "Facility Magazine & Workplace" for Colombia.
For his part, Luis Daniel Álvarez, was elected as the new secretary of ACFM. General Director of the company FMPlus, Luis Daniel is a Civil Engineer from the Cooperative University of Colombia at its headquarters in Neiva, Huila. Specialist in Project Management from the Pilot University of Bogotá. His work experience includes companies such as Ecopetrol, Terranum, Schlumberger and Cenit, in the latter as coordinator of administrative services.
Finally, Juan Esteban Tabares, was re-elected as treasurer to complete the management team of the Association. Tabares is a design architect from the National University of Colombia. Director of Adoblei arquitectos, a sole proprietorship with which he offers consulting and architectural design services with emphasis on the educational and cultural sector. Among his projects are commissions for public space, buildings for health, education and culture facilities. He also served as an infrastructure advisor for Colegio San José de las Vegas in Medellín.
