Colombia. A study published by the Ministry of Labor of Colombia revealed that between 2012 and 2014 the percentage of people who work under the modality of telework has increased by 25 percent, from 31,553 employees to 39,140. Similarly, the number of companies that allow their employees to work from home increased by 8 percent, from 4,292 to 4,572.
The capital Bogotá is the largest square in the field with 3,337 companies and 30,335 people who do telework. The study also noted that 74% of firms that have implemented a teleworking system say they feel satisfied and have obtained benefits.
"We believe that companies should rethink their work models to be more flexible, allowing their employees to work from anywhere for the sake of productivity and better customer service. This is a modality that gives access to work to people who, due to certain limitations, cannot move; teleworking has managed to become a 100% inclusive trend," Eduardo Franco, president of Vaits-Access Team, told local media Portafolio.
