International. The hotel company InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) announced the start of testing and the selective implementation of several digital innovations in order to provide a more personalized and interactive experience to its guests.
IHG-driven digital initiatives capitalize on a mix of technologies for use on mobile devices within hotels, enabling the hotel to master the experience and deliver added value in other aspects of the guest experience before, during and after their stays through consumer-oriented proposals.
Michael Menis, senior vice president of digital channels and voice at IHG, commented, "We constantly gather feedback from our consumers, allowing us to research, develop, pilot and launch new ways to interact with guests before, during and after their stay."
"The initiatives we are presenting today are really exciting, as they reinforce the way in which our digital capabilities provide added value that exceeds the possibility of making a reservation. They are examples of how to evolve our content strategy in order to preserve the bond with guests and develop a more meaningful relationship with them."
Part of this initiative is in collaboration with digital travel service Stay.com, whereby guests booking a stay with IHG will be able to use Stay.com to research and plan their trip, as well as have access to tips, suggestions and recommendations from hundreds of influencers in each location and around the world.
