The headquarters in Barcelona, Spain, of the multinational Schneider Electric has a complete Energy Management system governed by the ISO 50001 standard that allowed it to reduce its electricity consumption by 29.6%, as well as a reduction in more than 91 tons of CO2 emissions, according to the company. The headquarters is located in a building of 10,500 square meters and houses more than 400 people.
To achieve this, the company has various technological resources in an automated building, but also an Energy Management Team responsible for generating training and awareness processes among employees to ensure better environmental performance.
The team also uses technological tools to know where, how and when energy is consumed. Based on this information, lighting and air conditioning systems are optimized, adapting them to the needs and consumption patterns of workers.
According to information released by Schneider Electric, the total energy saved is divided into a reduction of 24.6% in electricity consumption, 42.5% in heating and 33.1% in cooling.
