Central America. Five new Hyatt-branded hotels will be built in major cities in Central America. Guatemala, Tegucigalpa (Honduras), San Pedro Sula (Honduras), San Salvador and Managua (Nicaragua) will receive properties of the brand thanks to the investment of the Latam Hotel Corporation group.
The estimated investment for the development of these projects is US$140 million and will also include the construction of complementary complexes to the hotel such as shopping centers and office towers.
Speaking to the Salvadoran media La Prensa Gráfica, Fernando Paiz, president of Latam Hotel Corporation, explained that "the regional trade business is keeping the occupancy of hotels full and tourism itself is growing. It is that tourism once comes to the region, the regional tourist stays many days and ends up traveling to several countries. The investment in the Hyatt being very optimistic about the future of this operation."
In the case of the property in San Salvador, the hotel will have 140 rooms, eight levels and an area of 11,737 square meters. In addition, it will include an office tower and commercial space with an area of 12,450 square meters.
