Colombia. Colombia closed the first quarter of 2015 with an economic growth of 2.8% compared to the same period of the previous year, according to figures provided by the National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE). Among the sectors that showed greater growth for the first and second quarters of the year, construction stands out (4.9%), according to the entity.
According to DANE, the good performance of sectors such as construction during the first and second quarters of the year is mainly due to the growth of civil works and the construction of buildings with 7% and 2.1%, respectively.
"The Colombian economy maintains a favorable behavior that positions it as one of the fastest growing, added to its attractiveness for different industries thanks to the fact that the country combines a large gross domestic product with a forecast of higher growth for the coming years. The companies that are better prepared and at the forefront of technology will be able to benefit highly," said Martín Cayón, director of TOTVS North Latin America.
"It is at this time of conjuncture Colombian companies regardless of whether they are large or SMEs, they must implement technological solutions that help them align their processes, improve their delivery times, optimize their existing resources and bring their finances in total transparency," says Cayón.
