Colombia. The Atlántica Torre Empresarial corporate complex will use 192 tons of glass and 8,617 square meters of window to cover its façade. The modern building being built in Barranquilla will also use 10,843 cubic meters of concrete, as well as more than one million kilograms of steel.
The company in charge of providing the material for the glass façade and the windows will be Tecnoglass, as announced by Provalor, the project's management firm. Among the characteristics required for these materials, it stands out that the glass will have a solar gain coefficient (SHGC) of 0.33 and light transmission of 51%, which makes it ideal for the climate of Barranquilla by offering protection against the heat produced by the direct incidence of the sun's rays without affecting the passage of light.
In addition, the glass to be installed in the property will be insulated, that is, it will have an air chamber that, together with the other characteristics described, will allow to obtain a very low heat transfer through the glass. The energy performance of the glass will help a better operation of the air conditioning, reducing the consumption and size of the equipment.
Atlántica Torre Empresarial is a corporate complex that will have 32 thousand square meters built, 16 thousand of them corresponding to offices. The building will have 21 floors to reach 91 meters high, 1,300 square meters of common areas, a corporate floor of more than 1,500 square meters equipped with support areas such as meeting rooms, auditoriums, dining room for employees, gym and terraces.
